The second “Braids and Books”  event was a great experience for both Ettrick Elementary and Virginia State University students alike!

Miss VSU 2017-2018, Da’Shunnda Hayward-White, the AKA sorority of VSU and many Ettrick girls participated in an engaging afternoon together talking about girl empowerment and literacy while braiding each other’s hair.

It’s exciting to see how the VSU and Ettrick partnership continues to grow!
