Carver Academy is the only high school which hosts a Communities In Schools of Chesterfield Site. This program is overseen by Jennifer Grossnickle, Site Coordinator. The mission of CIS of Chesterfield is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. On-time graduation, academic achievement and a successful transition to work and/or higher education are our primary goals. CIS at Carver achieves these goals through various supports such as recognition efforts, connecting students and families with resources, as well as supporting enrichment and college/career learning.

One of the partners of CIS is MEGA Mentors, which mentors students in a group setting twice a month. The goals of MM are to instill hope, goal orientation and leadership skills, as well as increase personal and scholastic achievement. This is achieved through facilitated discussions, as well as experiential field trips throughout the year.
