Mentoring is one of the most impactful opportunities we have to offer students and volunteers. This is the opportunity for a caring adult to have an authentic relationship with a child. All CIS Mentoring takes place at school, during school hours under the supervision of the CIS Site Coordinators. Mentors are asked to complete an application, attend training and receive on-going support from the Site Coordinators throughout their match. Mentors are matched to a student in grades K-12 based on which grade level the mentor chooses and which grade level’s schedule is most convenient.

At Communities In Schools of Chesterfield, we surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Our Site Coordinators work in 13 CCPS schools, alongside teachers and school staff, to remove barriers and help students reach their full potential.

April is All Site Volunteer Month, and we need your help! Click the button below to explore the available projects at our schools. If you are interested in other ways to volunteer, reach out to Wendy Lively at [email protected] to learn more.

One of the best ways to support our mission is through advocacy. By signing up to receive our newsletter, following our social media accounts, and staying in the loop with CIS of Chesterfield events and programs, you can learn how you can use your voice to create a positive future for students at CIS sites across the county.
