Go-to school snack: Peanut M&M’s or pistachios – they are easy to grab while walking around the building.

My favorite part of the school day: Lunchtime. It gives me the opportunity to sit with students, lead social-emotional learning groups, and talk about life, feelings, and personal growth in a way that feels relaxed, engaging, and fun.

A student moment that always makes me smile: My favorite moments happen every Friday during weekend food bag deliveries. I love picking student helpers to assist with the distribution. Seeing the look of satisfaction and pride on their faces when they knock on a door and hand over a bag is incredible. You can see they feel a deep sense of purpose – they aren’t just receiving help; they are being the help.

What “showing up” means to me: To me, showing up means being a consistent, visible, and reliable presence. It’s about more than just being in the building; it’s meeting their basic needs so they are ready to learn, and showing them every single day that they have an advocate who is in their corner.

One thing I hope every student knows: I hope every student knows that they are valued, capable, and deserving of support. No matter what challenges they may face, there are people who care about them, believe in their potential, and want to see them succeed.
